About the Course

The Miller Course at Turnberry Isle Country Club

Walk from your hotel room over to the club – no bus this year!  Robert Trent Jones, Sr. originally designed the golf course in 1971 but Ray Floyd later reworked it in 2007. He stayed true to the original layout but he made it more challenging and scenic. Working with the resort's relatively small land area, Floyd carefully sculpted contours and mounding, creating a variety of new elevation changes throughout the landscape. The Miller Course is the shorter of the two courses. It offers a more player-friendly test but there are still plenty of challenges with strategically placed water hazards and perfectly carved bunkers. In addition, Turnberry offers a double-sided driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT

ALS_black-logo_trans__1_Frank Bennett with BC Hydro of Vancouver, BC, was a founding Board Member of USMA. He served as Chairman and played an important role in program development and USMA's strategic plan. Several years ago he was stricken with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) and soon passed away. Frank loved golf and was a very important part of the annual conference and golf tournament. In 2006 the USMA Board of Directors decided to name the annual tournament in memory of Frank and designate the ALS Association as the tournament benefactor.
